Baptism

In the tradition of The United Methodist Church, baptism is a ‘means of grace,’ where we receive God’s grace through God’s action in the sacrament. Baptism is a special moment of receiving God's Holy Spirit and joining God's Family.

Planning a Baptism

We welcome people of all ages to receive the gift of baptism, and we recognize the grace of baptism through different forms, such as sprinkling, pouring or immersion.

We recognize one baptism for the forgiveness of sins, so we accept baptisms for people who have been baptized elsewhere.

Our congregation takes vows to support the person being baptized, so we recommend that people join our congregation and participate in the life of our faith community to receive the full support and encouragement of our congregation in your spiritual journey.
