![]() SUMC Daily Devotion (7-1-2020) “You give something to eat.” - Luke 9:11 We wonder how Jesus fed the crowd of five thousand men with two loaves of bread and five fish. Some say, “Jesus can do anything.” Some say, “No way. It’s impossible to feed five thousand people with a boy’s lunch.” But Jesus did not do it alone. Jesus used people to work wonders. Jesus said, “You give something to eat.” And a boy obeyed and gave what he had. The boy’s selfless generosity became a seed of the miracle of feeding a hungry crowd. With God’s grace, our little acts of kindness and generosity can make a big difference. Today’s prayer: Dear Lord, as we need God, God needs our cooperation. Use us to be the channel of your blessings to people in need. Help us to let God use what we have for God’s good purposes. Amen. 1. To live is to give. 2. I started giving myself away, and soon discovered that the more I gave the more I had. 3. Always try to do something for the other fellow and you will be agreeably surprised how things come your way- how many pleasant things are done for you. – Claude M.
