Dear SUMC members and friends,
Greetings in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ! I wonder how you and your loved ones are doing in this troubled time. I hope and pray that you and your family are safe and well. Due to the high spike of Covid-19 in our area, schools have closed and gone virtual. Our church followed suit with a good reason that Christians should set a good example of protecting others as well as ourselves. From time to time, life has a way of throwing lemons at us. When that happens, we can either be bitter or better. It is our job to make sweet lemonade out of the sour lemons. St. Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” With God’s help, we can make the best and the most out of the given situation. Let us believe that God gives us faith, optimism, creativity, tenacity, and resiliency. As the saying goes, “God gives us burdens but God also gives us the shoulders to carry them.” Let us keep doing what we can, instead of fretting over what we cannot. If we keep doing what we can, we will be amazed at how much we can accomplish. It’s been said, “Adversity can be a blessing in disguise.” Faith is the ability to find good in every situation. During this time of social distancing, we still can stay connected through online church service, Zoom fellowship, phone calls and cards and it won’t be long until we meet again. In the meantime, take good care of yourself and take good care of each other. “The best of all is, God is with us!” - John Wesley Stay safe and stay well! Pastor Jerry Cho Dear SUMC congregation,
It's been reported that the Green Bay area has become one of the coronavirus hotspots in the nation. Area schools have been closed to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. After much discussion, church leaders and I agreed that it would be best for our church to close our indoor services for the protection of our congregation, starting Oct. 5th, 2020. We will reevaluate the situation in two weeks and let the congregation know when we will resume indoor services. We will continue to have digital services. In the meantime, our church office will be open. Tina and I will be in the office Mon. thru Thursday from 9am to 1 pm. (Please wear a mask when you enter the church building.) If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. We would appreciate your understanding and cooperation. "Be strong and courageous, for God is with you wherever you are." -Joshua 1:6 Stay safe and stay well! Pastor Jerry Jerry Cho: 920-373-3081 |
