With the summer in full swing, it’s good to remind ourselves about our need for rest. The fourth commandment is still in force the last time I checked! “Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work.” – Exodus 20:8-10.
In our modern economy, some people have to work on Sundays. That means taking a day off on another day of the week. The question is, are we taking one day each week for down time, worship or devotions, and being with family and friends. Keeping Sabbath will bring many blessings – better health, and reconnection with God and family. If you aren’t keeping Sabbath, give it a try. You’ll be obeying God and doing yourself a favor. See you in church, Pastor Eric Comments are closed.
