![]() SUMC Daily Devotion (6-9-2020) by Pastor Jerry “I am among you as the one who serves.” - Luke 22:27 We live in a world where people want to dominate other people. The dominant people are arrogant and the dominated are bitter. Jesus came to save us from the sins of arrogance and bitterness. Jesus said, “I came to serve, not to be served.” After washing his disciples’ feet, Jesus said, “Serve one another as I have served you.” As disciples of Jesus, let us serve one another with humility, love and compassion. Let us pray: Dear Lord, help us to realize that we are one human race. Jesus taught us that we are all brothers and sisters in the kingdom of God. Open our eyes so that we may see that life is short and that we are here not for domination but for love. Amen. 1. We live in order to serve one another. 2. I find life an exciting business and most exciting when it is lived for others. -Helen Keller 3. There is a direct link between service to others and rewards.
