“If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey wandering away, you shall surely return it to him.” -Exodus 23:4 Although most of us do not own an ox or a donkey, the moral lesson of this saying is still good for us. The lesson is that we must do good to everyone, including our enemies. If we cannot do good to others, at least we should not harm other people. “Do no harm, do good” is the summary of all religious teachings. Jesus said, “Do good to others. Bless those who curse you.” Today’s prayer: Dear Lord, we confess that we have harmed other people, knowingly or unknowingly. We have not done good deeds enough for other people. Help us to focus on this simple rule of Christian life: “Do no harm, do good.” Amen. 1. We cannot sincerely help another without helping ourselves. 2. The best creed we can have is charity toward the creeds of others. – Josh Billings 3. Think twice before you speak – and you will find everyone talking about something else. Comments are closed.
