Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
When I first came to this church, I had an open house at the parsonage. I wanted everyone in our church to know where I lived and what the parsonage looked like. If any of you have not been to the parsonage, you are more than welcome to stop for a visit. Since coming to our church, I have now had the chance to visit about twenty homes of church members and friends… so far. It is my wish that I visit more homes to get to know all of you better. When I visited a church member a while ago, the person said to me, “I have been a member of this church for 28 years. I have never had a pastor’s visit in all those years. You are the first pastor who has visited me.” Unless a pastor is invited to visit a parishioner’s home, pastors cannot visit parishioner’s homes. So if you don’t mind a pastoral visit, please let me know and I will come for a visit to your home. As a shepherd needs to know his/her flock closely, a pastor is in need of knowing his/her congregation on a personal level. Jesus said in John 10:27-28, “My sheep hear my voice. I know them and they follow me” Let us all follow our shepherd and the Lord, Christ Jesus! Sincerely, Pastor Jerry Comments are closed.
