So what is SUMC Youth Group?
It is a place for 7-12 grade students to gather in a safe place to….
We rotate between:
Youth Group Mission trip to Blue Knob, Pennsylvania
In the town of Altoona, and surrounding areas of the Alleghenies Mountains, we will serve families and ministries in need through hands-on projects. These projects include painting, home repair, roofing and building wheelchair ramps. Local churches and missions will also be served during this trip as we lend a hand to help maintain and improve their facilities, showing the love of Christ throughout an area in need. We will stay at apartment style college dorms at Penn State University, Altoona campus. Our housing location is in a beautiful mountain setting with plenty of outdoor recreation areas and hiking trails.
This trip would not be possible without the help of our anonymous donor who generously donated all the money for a Lamers Coach Bus again this year. Without this donation, the cost of the trip would be considerably greater, making it difficult for many to attend. New this year, we invited New Hope United Methodist Church Youth Group to join us. It's a chance to meet new friends and combine our mission efforts. There is room for about 28 youth from our church. Once those spaces are filled, we are full.
