“Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.”     – Matthew 23:12

People who are arrogant and pompous are really insecure and empty inside. Little people put other people down. Great people bring other people up. God has a way of putting arrogant people down and lifting humble people up. Arrogant and pompous people are despicable in God’s eyes. Humble and modest people are great in God’s eyes. Truly great people are humble and gentle.

Today’s prayer:
We live in a competitive world. People say, “Nice guys finish last.” Unless we promote ourselves, nobody will notice us. So we exaggerate our importance by self-aggrandizement and self-glorification. Eventually, God will bring down arrogant people and exalt humble people. Help us to be humble and modest people. Amen.

1.    The key to happiness is to keep your mind in tune with the Divine Mind, your life in tune with the universe.
                           -Ralph Waldo Emerson
2.    Small-minded people blame others. Average people blame themselves. The wise see all blame as  foolishness.      - Epictetus
3.    The surgeon dresses the wound, God heals it.  – Dubois, French surgeon
