Dear SUMC members and friends,
Anything new in your family?
Nothing much here. No news, good news. 😁

Spiritual Vitamins (4/23/2020) by Pastor Jerry Cho

“The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.” – Mark 2:27

The purpose of Sabbath was originally good. Sabbath was a special day set aside for worship and rest by the Ten Commandments. As time went by, however, the Sabbath law became rigid and legalistic. The Sabbath law enslaved people instead of freeing people. Jesus declared that religious laws were made for people, not people for religious laws. God so loved the world that He sent Jesus to give people freedom from religious laws. Jesus gave us a new commandment: “Love one another.” If a religion is for people, good. If people are forced to be for a religion, bad.

Today’s poem:
“So many gods, so many creeds,
So many paths that wind and wind,
When just the art of being kind
Is all this sad world needs.”    -
Ella Wheeler Wilcox

1.    “Never get too busy to have a short visit with God.”
2.    “No one religion has all of the truth.”
3.    “Why worry about heaven if we are serving God here?”
