Self-image is what determines our life. If we have a negative self-image, we will have a negative life. If we have a positive self-image, we will have a positive life. The Bible tells us that we are created in the image of God and that we are God’s children. The Bible also says, “If anyone is in Christ, we are a new creation.” If we have faith that we are children of God and the followers of Christ, God’s holy spirit within us will elevate the quality of our lives.

Today’s prayer for people who have low self-esteem, Dear Lord, we often form our self-image by what our family and society say about us. Help us to listen to what God has to say to us. Help us to put our past behind us and start a new life as a disciple of Jesus Christ. We are new creations in Christ. We are children of God, no matter what the world tells us. Amen.
