Missions
Senegal Mission Initiative
The Senegal Mission is an international mission that has close ties to our church. Rev. Tony Fuller, who works on the Senegal Mission, grew up in our church. Our church is supporting Tony and this mission through our financial gifts which go towards pastor salaries, leadership development, Sunday school, church ministries, and repairs. Programs that we support with our gifts are the feeding of children, teaching of community health workers, and skill centers for women. Pastor Dee has spoken with Tony about the Senegal mission and her interest in the project grew. For our church, this mission is very important. It is a way for us to reach out and make a difference internationally and it is a way to support fellow church members who are making those differences through God’s guidance and our financial gifts
Brownies for The Inn -Served the 1st Friday each month.
Thank you to everyone who has been so faithful in supplying brownies for the Homeless Shelter each month! We are now serving about 200 each time. It would really help if you cut your own pan into 24 pieces - 4X6, thank you!
The office is open from 9:00-3:00 Thursday. You can also drop them off Wednesday evening during praise team and choir rehearsals and youth group (usually from 5:45-8:00 pm) .
Please look for the sign-up sheet in church - any questions call Diane 434-1168
Ecumenical Partnership for Housing
The Mission of EPH is: "As faith calls us to minister with our neighbors in need, Ecumenical Partnership for Housing seeks through partnership with religious organizations and social services agencies to provide transitional housing and support services for homeless families". The Vision is "Through transitional housing, extensive case management and support services, families achieve the knowledge, skills, and "Wholeness" for a self-sufficient future." Dennis and I didn't know a lot about EPH or the homeless in the area when Pastor Dee asked us to consider becoming SUMC's Unit Co-coordinators for the Isaiah House. We felt we could help SUMC assist this unique worthy mission in the Green Bay area as there are so many families in need of housing assistance and the waiting list keeps growing. As the home is cleaned and stocked to welcome a hurting family into a safe, secure, hope-filled dwelling, we hope to fulfill the commandment to love others, to share our gifts with those in need and to make a positive impact on the clients’ lives today and that it will continue for generations. The congregation has been very supportive in assisting with cleaning and painting chores, yard work, and donating supplies and food for each of our families--together we are making a difference in people’s lives and our community!
